Top Scottish Herd of the Year

We are very pleased to announce that the Romany Herd has been judged to be the Top Hereford Herd in Scotland. This biannual competion was judged this year by Clive McWilliam of Churchlands Herefords. Successful end of show season.

With our show season coming to an end prematurely due to Blue Tongue restrictions stopping us exhibiting at Bucks County and Moreton on Marsh we attended The Border Union Show at Kelso on the 26th July and the Scottish National Hereford Show at Perth on the 2nd August. It is with much pleasure that we inform you that the Romany Herd has won two prestigious awards this year: Sire of The Year and Show Herd of The Year. Both awards are competed for by all UK breeders exhibiting stock at the Show and Sales and Summer Shows. Cosmonaut finally takes off!

We are pleased to finally inform you that Romany 1 Cosmonaut A51 C40 has set off for Poland. This bull was bought last summer by Simon Gill of Agro Irlandia, Poland. However owing to FMD and BTV export bans he has only left today! The plan is that semen from this bull will be drawn and gifted to farmers who rent dairy cows from Agro Irlandia, these calves will hopefully provide a better quality ... [more]

They're here and they're clear! New Stock Bulls

We have bought two new stock bulls to try to replace Figurehead as he comes to the end of his working life, and to follow on from Romany 1 Asteroid, Romany 1 Atlas and Baybridge 1 Atlas. Carlisle Show and Sale 29th February - Results - Good and Bad!

We had a good and bad sale. We were very pleased when Romany 1 Dan R22 D8 was awarded Champion (out of 20 bulls forward), but not so pleased when he failed to meet his reserve, so we still have him available. Romany 1 Diamond R22 D22 was second in the class behind Dan and we were pleased when he made the days top price of £3150. He sold to John Brown of the Hilton Partership Herd based in Fife. He ...
