They're here and they're clear! New Stock Bulls, News & Sales, Romany Hereford News/Sales

We have bought two new stock bulls to try to replace Figurehead as he comes to the end of his working life, and to follow on from Romany 1 Asteroid, Romany 1 Atlas and Baybridge 1 Atlas.

Both bulls were bought in Denmark from Jens Michael Jensen (judge at National Poll Show 2005) last October. We hope they will add a new dimension to the Herd and will see light work through summer 2008 then will earn their keep properly in the winter. Please click on their names to see full pedigrees.

We took delivery of them on Saturday 9th February after a 28 hour trip.

The first: SMH Calgary 345C , born 15/3/07.

He shows great potential, tremendous length and good colour. We saw a lot of calves by his sire Smh Armstrong and he really looks to be putting a stamp on his offspring. Sally 812 is a good broad cow with good length, reports from Denmark are that she has had a great heifer calf this year(described as a real beauty by Jens Michael) who is sired by Romany 1 Captain!

The second: SMH Castro 0001 , born 16/05/07.

This bull is tremendously wide with fantastic depth of body. His pedigree is outstanding and it appears he will have performance to match, he was a whopping 352kg on 15/11/2007. He is a half brother to the award winning Remitall Patriot 13P. He contains Nibbs who we have always fancied using at Romany but have never been able to find the correct genetic package in the correct animal, until now!
