Herd Awards 2007

It is with much pleasure that we inform you that the Romany Herd has won two prestigious awards this year:

Sire of The Year and Show Herd of The Year.

Both awards are competed for by all UK breeders exhibiting stock at the Show and Sales and Summer Shows. Each animal can only gain points for his Sire or for your herd at one show and the greater their award from judging the more points gained. There are rules in place to maintain a standard of the show attended (and a minimum entry forward), so you gain more points at the Royal than the likes of The Scottish National Show. It is a huge honour for us to win these.

Firstly our senior stock bull Crickley 1 Figurehead (photo below) was awarded Sire of The Year 2007. This is a direct result of the success of his progeny at the Autumn 2006 and Spring 2007 Show and Sales and also the Summer Shows over 2007. We have a number of animals for sale by him and are always happy to show you around the herd even if you're just passing and want a coffee!

The second prize which we have been awarded is Show Herd of The Year 2007. Its great to win this and we're very happy but we really go to shows to exhibit our stock and try to help promote a positive image for the breed.
