Please find below a list of young bulls which we currently have for sale. We would be happy for you to come and view these at any time. We are also very happy for people to take options on bulls.

Romany Herefords are members of the SAC High Health Scheme. We have under taken the first test for BVD Johnes with clear results. Prior to joining the High Health Scheme we tested all sale stock for BVD, Lepto, IBR and Johnes with no positive results. Owing to natural restraints we are not going to try to become accredited for Lepto, we will though test and vaccinate prior to sale. We have been fortunate to obtain the odd export order so we do not vaccinate for IBR.

We only select the best of our bulls as potential stock bulls. Normally this is equates to the top 35% of any calf crop. The remainder of our bulls are finished at approximately 13-15 months for beef.

All bulls are semen tested prior to sale which includes an examination of teeth, eyes, heart, lungs and locomotion.

Romany 1 Harper D345 H8 UK562010 400747 - ENTERED FOR STIRLING BULL SALES 6TH FEBRUARY 2012.

Harper is a well grown bull that would be an excellent choice for heifers either in a dairy or suckler/pedigree herd. His sire Calgary was used predominately on heifers to calf at two year old. Harper's dam (from our famous Dawn family) is a daughter of Romany 1 Asteroid, another easy calving bull. Asteroid has left females that have an abundance of milk and great udder structure. Harper is a sound bull with great leg structure and top line. He is also smooth through the shoulder, backing up his easy calving pedigree and performance figures, if you want to sleep while your heifers calf then this is the bull! Harper is Semen tested, BVD tested, BVD vaccinated, IBR tested, Lepto vaccinated and will be DNA tested.

Romany 1 Haggis D1 H20 UK562010 200759 - ENTERED FOR STIRLING BULL SALES 6TH FEBRUARY 2012.

A really stylish bull that has been much admired at home, AgriExpo and Forfar calf shows. He is by one of the herds senior stock bulls SMH Castro (P). Castro sired the Reserve Champion bull at the recent Hereford Show and Sale. Haggis's dam was Reserve Junior Female at the Royal Highland Show in 2006. He boasts performance figures in the top 1% for 200 day growth, top 5% for 200 and 400 day growth and top 10% for milk. He is a good all round package for any herd but would suit suckler / pedigree cows or heifers best. Haggis is Semen tested, BVD tested, BVD vaccinated, IBR tested, Lepto vaccinated and will be DNA tested.

Romany 1 Hitman A84 H4 UK562010 600742- ENTERED FOR STIRLING BULL SALES 6TH FEBRUARY 2012.

Hitman is a super young bull with a great carcass, his scanning figures put his ebv's in the top 5% of the breed for Eye Muscle Area and Retail Beef Yeild. His 200 and 600 day growth ebv's also put him in the top 10%.
He is by the twice Hereford Sire of the Year Baybridge 1 Atlas who has sired many sale toppers, show winners and sound breeding stock. Hitman's dam is a female who has produced some great stock with two twin heifers selling for Ł3000 each at the Hereford Spring Show and Sale 2010. She also produced two stock bulls, one working in the Baysham Pedigree herd at Ross on Way for the Rudges, and the other in a commercial herd in Hampshire for Newlyns Farm Shop. Hitman is long and well muscled and would be a great bull for cows or heifers in a suckler / pedigree or dairy herd.
Semen tested, BVD tested, BVD vaccinated, IBR tested, Lepto vaccinated and will be DNA tested.
