News & Sales Romany 1 Captain R22 C1 - Available for use in the UK and World wide.Lightning Does Strike Twice! At the Great Yorkshire Show, against stiff competition Captain again was awarded Breed Champion and Interbreed Champion. What was so special on this occasion was that the 'judge' for the interbreed were a panel of all 16 beef judges from that days classes. Each judge was allowed to award between 0-20 points for each animal. In what was a most nerve racking Interbreed for interested parties to watch it was clear that it was going to be tight between the Simmental, Charolais and of course the Hereford. After what seemed a very long time Captain was crowned Champion! We feel this is tremendous for the Hereford Breed. The breed has improved so much in the last ten years it is great that as a breed we can produce cattle that this kind of reward can be bestowed upon. There have been good bulls being exhibited recently but it is rewarding to us that the only one to win a major Interbreed was Romany bred, although major credit must go to AE Nesbitt Farms and Keith Jempson who have owned and looked after the bull since 2007. Captain - Interbreed Champion Royal Highland Show 2010 We are delighted to report that Captain was awarded the above award at this years RHS last week. When there are 920 beef cattle from around the country it is some honour to come out on top. We offer full congratulations to the Nesbitts and Keith Jempson who have owned and looked after the bull since buying him for £8000 at the RHS in 2007. To see a four minute exctract of the Interbreed please follow this link it will only work until the 8th July
So far over 700 straws of semen have been exported to Brazil, Eire, Denmark, Switzerland and Germany to be used in pedigree herds. Captain is fully polled with 100% pigment on each eye. He has terrific locomotion and a tremendous carcass. His dam has a great udder with nice teat size. You will see his dam, Romany 1 Julia 41H V3 is by Glenlees Storm 51C 41H - for more information on him see our stock bull section. His sire: Crickley 1 Figurehead was UK Sire of the Year in 2007 and has many daughters in our, and other pedigree herds. He was a bull very similar to Captain who left great udder structure on his females and great carcass shape on his bulls.
